Music Festivals!
Music festival season is fast approaching. Since the pioneering days of Woodstock, the crowds at music festivals have had an impact on fashion trends and their influence has only gotten stronger in this era of blogging and self- documenting. And why shouldn’t they? These creative gatherings have always attracted the young and beautiful, stylish and adventurous. Groundbreaking Woodstock has been burned into the collective memory of generations and some of the images from this early music festival are integral to the canon of 70's groovy style.
High notes of festival style
Today's music festivals span a wide range of different music genres, from EDM to Folk, Country to Pop, and everything in between, but the overall style vibe associated with the music festival set is a luxe boho aesthetic that could have been at home in the earliest shows. Layering is key at many of these venues: shows like SXSW or Coachella can be blazingly hot during the daytime with nights that quickly get chilly. Fashionistas in the know wear flowing sundresses, with crochet cardigans or fringe vests, or tiny shorts with string tops and layered with colorful kimonos. Wide brimmed hats, and layers of beaded jewelry, stacks of silver rings and bracelets are all de rigueur. A large tapestry tote to carry all your essentials is an important accessory, too. Feathers, turquoise, suede, and denim are all great notes to hit and don’t forget a pair of standout sunnies.
