top 5 Accessories Trends for spring!

We just got snow in here two days ago - yes, April Fool's on us. Even so, we are getting geared up for fine weather and so excited for all the fun and colorful trends that spring has to offer. Here is a preview of what you will be seeing a lot more of in the warmer months...

1. Tinted Sunnies!

It girls agree - along with many other trends being resurrected from the 90's this is a throwback that we will be seeing more of this summer. Although yellow seems to be the hottest hue, go for it and pick your favorite color.

2. Platform Sandals!

Another 90's staple - are you noticing a trend here? The platform sandal was all over the runways for 2017. It can go hi-tech and athleisure looking, or more boho as in the Steve Madden vintage version. You should expect to see a lot of this as the weather warms up.

3. Delicate Chokers!

I know this isn't news, but chokers are here to stay for a while. The version you will be seeing more of for spring is delicate as opposed to some of the more sculptural pieces we had seen in fall. Layered chains and sweet ribbon ties are light and look pretty with a crisp shirt or flirty dress.

4. Itty-Bitty Crossbody Bags!

Tiny crossbody bags were seen in many instances on the runways. In some cases the bags were so small they are more like wallets on a strap - barely able to hold more than a few cards, and a phone. Valentino had several examples shown layered; maybe so you can carry all the essentials that might not fit in one!

5. Statement Earrings!

Where chokers got finer and more delicate, earrings got dramatically large and sculptural. In many cases, grazing the shoulders and very intricate. They ranged from looking ethnically inspired at McQueen to very clean and modern at Philip Lim. Most pieces are impactful enough to be worn singly, with a less obtrusive mate on the other side.

It was actually pretty difficult to narrow down the post to five trends. For a more comprehensive look at all the accessories trends we are following take a look at our Pinterest Board.

Shoes are my weakness, so having only one footwear trend represented was especially tough. We may have to have 'Trend part 2' and would love to include your thoughts. Let us know which accessory trends you feel should have been included.
