top 5 Print Trends for Summer!
We were broiling hot here in Boston at the end of last week - whereas the beginning of the week found me still wearing a merino sweater! The swift change in temperature has me looking forward to all the bright and playful prints that come with summer weather. Here is a roundup of patterns that will be in heavy rotation all summer long...
1. Gingham and Dots!

Ok, I realize this is really TWO motifs, but really, gingham and dots go together like (spiked) lemonade and hammocks. Not just for spring, these traditional warm weather patterns will still look crisp and cool on summer shorts, bathing suits and sundresses.
2. Hothouse Tropicals!
Zara| Rochas | Miss Behave | Mara Hoffman | Just Cavalli |Every Cloud| Barbara Bui | ASOS | A-Brand
All things Cuban were runaway hits on the runways for 2017 product. Bold tropical flora and fauna will be a dominating presence in stores on all categories of clothing and accessories.
3. Romantic Florals!
Zimmerman | Zac Posen| Tracy Reese | Oxygen Boutique | Lush | June&Hudson | Giambattista Valli | Anthropologie
Soft romantic florals are hardly a shocker for summer, but designers seemed to really embrace them for this year. You will find so many beautiful options for this ultra-feminine trend.
4. African inspired!
Xuly Bet | French Connection | Express | Carven | Ted Baker|Anthropologie | Cherish | via Pinterest | Etro
Bold graphic florals and abstracts punctuated by strong lines and geometric shapes. You can find these patterns everywhere from shorts and long dresses to bold accessories and crop tops.
5. Exotics Moorish motifs!
Joie | Love & Lemons | ASOS | White House Black Market | Native Rose | Anthropologie | WhoWhatWear | Anthropologie | Derek Lam
Inspired by ornate embroideries and tilework patterns. Ethnic geometrics and intricate paisleys embellish kaftans, sundresses, and feminine blouses. This a a lovely way to rock the boho look through the summer.
