Spring 2018 - just as we predicted!
Tuesday, March 20, marks the first day of Spring but designers have long been planning their trends for the season. Here at Polychrome, we offer various prints and trend services to keep designers in the know and ready to plan ahead for the upcoming seasons.
Not to brag, but many of our spring projections and prints that we had proposed over a year ago came to pass on Spring 2018 runways!
Wild West
The Wild West isn’t just fun for movie producers; fashion designers are inspired by this theme, too. We predicted an updated western trend was coming and Calvin Klein’s Spring 2018 RTW gave us just that. Bottega Veneta also took this trend for a ride in their Spring 2018 RTW Collection. Giddy up! Fringe, bandana prints, traditional rodeo motifs, denim, and cowboy boots are all making an appearance this spring.
Bright Future
This Spring, bright colors are also going to be key. Marni’s 2018 Spring RTW has a lot vibrant prints, just like our Bright Future trend report predicted. Maison Margiela’s show also stayed true to our trend with a vivid color scheme punctuated with metallics. Get ready for the fun colors, metallic patterns, and hand sketched floral prints that will make an appearance for Spring!
Candy Crush
Want to look as sweet as candy? We have you covered with our Candy Crush trend. Manish Arora's 2018 Spring runway showed our trend projection in action with a candy shop inspired color palette and soft looks. Delpozo and Moschino also showcased the pastel hued trend in their Spring 2018 lines, showcasing fun patterns and sweet tooth style.
Mexicali
Mexicali has us all ready to embrace the culture, motifs, and bold colors of Mexico. Apparently we are not the only ones: with traditional Day of the Dead motifs, bright florals, and traditional embroideries, this trend has really inspired many designers. It has been seen on the runways from Dolce & Gabbana, Alice + Olivia, and Brock Collection.
Atlantis
Versace got a lot of attention for the aquatic inspired prints on their Spring runway. Lake Studio Spring 2018 also had many elements of our projected Atlantis Spring 2018 trend. From the fish scales, wavy patterns, and various shaves of ocean blue, we can feel our inner mermaid trend coming out this spring.
Portofino Paramour
The Portofino Paramour trend is bound to be a big hit this spring. Think polka dots, stripes, and vintage jet set this spring.
BY - Bonnie Young flaunted this trend in their Spring 2018 RTW Collection. Hugo Boss’ Spring Collection also drew influence on the theme from the vintage overtones and striped prints on their runway.
